Sultry siren, Bipasha Basu is back in the headlines again, this time with fellow Bollywood actor, Vivek Oberoi. A former Ford model who moved to NYC at 17, Basu is currently embroiled in the controversy over a video found on YouTube which shows a bit of the Bollywood actress’s right breast. A no-hold-barred commercial Bipasha Basu did way back in 1999 before she became a Bollywood star has suddenly surfaced on YouTube.com. In the ad film, for New York Lotto, Bipasha features in the buff. She plays an Oriental princess who is being bathed and readied by handmaidens for an amorous meeting with a prince played by Vivek Oberoi, who was also yet to become a star.

“It was shot as an international assignment meant for global markets. Bipasha shot for the ad film shortly after winning the Ford Supermodel Contest in 1996,” the actress’s spokesperson said. While he claimed that a body double was used for the shoot, several close-up scenes clearly show Bipasha in the buff. [Link.]

Despite the fact that Basu has been in her share of risque scenes (think “Jadu Hai Nasha Hai”  from Jism with current boyfriend John Abraham), Bollywood is known for rarely showing kissing — much less nudity or sex — in accordance with the rules of India’s strict censor board. This may explain why the mere (tasteful) flash of a boob has caused such a scandal for Basu.
