Last week, we brought you very, very short tastes of Arcade Fire’s upcoming 12″ singles — “Suburbs” and “Month of May.” Back then we described them as such:

“Suburbs” seems like typical Arcade Fire — a plunky piano jam you could imagine playing in hipster dive bars all over the world; “Month of May” seems like an out-of-character nod to UK punk.”
Now, we’ve got the full dishes for you. Were we right or wrong? I’m inclined to say that we here at MTV IGGY are always 100% correct about everything. But listen for yourself.
The weirdest thing about the “Month of May” single is the wash of the first few seconds — is it exactly the same as the wash on “Ocean of Noise” off Neon Bible? I prefer “Suburbs” — which is more of a return to AF’s first full-length (my favorite).
