If you find your graph paper a tad boring, spice it up with some Mega! Mega! This four-man group out of Berlin sound like the inheritors of the lo-fi party band platform formerly occupied by the now old-school Vines, with a dash of Harlem Shakes and a nod to The Strokes. With lo-fi, tinny vocals and a party atmosphere thumping through the kick-drums, this is music to run through a city to. And though I can’t understand the lyrics to their new single, “Lutsch die Pumpe,” I feel like I can understand the single line “Showdowns in indie bars!” though maybe what they’re saying is “schadenfreude in indie bars,” which would make more sense in the context. They call themselves a cocktail of “energy, rock’n'roll attitude, cheeky slogans, arrogance and self serving extras!” And their German critics seem to universally laud the group for its lyrics, noting “Ever heard a song that revolves around the monthly ticket of Berlin city transport?”

So, if only we could speak German, we’d know these guys were good. In any case, you kind of get the idea from their spritely, spirited videos. So check them out below! And hit up their MySpace.

Here’s the new video for the new single:

And here’s an older track, “Es kann nur besser werden”:
