If you’re not from the sunny bubble of Hollywood, you know that America’s sprawling film industry gets just about every accent, every country all-the-way wrong. Viral video mastermind Joe Sabia at Whilred Interactive wanted to make fun of just that. So he mashed-together 100 Hollywood films that make ridiculously false claims about other countries, or butcher the accents in crazy ways. See “Mongols” fight and suburbanites mispronounce Italian: It’s “Let Hollywood Teach You Geography”!

But it’s less interesting if you think of the video simply as pointing out Hollywood’s lack of heavy research and realism. It’s much more interesting if you think of it as a piece of evidence of how any single culture views the others.

And it gets better! In the second video, you can help collaborate with Sabia and Whirled by giving them more info on movies you know that mention & misinterpret other countries. Step on it!
