All around the world, biting their nails as they await Firday’s premiere of New Moon, are the moms of Twilight. And they didn’t just drive their daughters to the mall…

Maybe it’s your own mom. And maybe your mother’s obsession outweighs your own. And hey! Maybe that’s great — it’s something you really connect over, something you think your mom is cool for liking… Or maybe, it makes the whole enterprise  seem lame-o, makes your own obsession with the series more “mom-like.”

Either way, you gotta hand it to ‘em, the Twilight Moms are frickin’ kicking the butts off the fandom of their teenaged daughters. With more money to burn, their shrines grow taller; with more time on their hands, their fan-made crafts are more finely-made.

New York Magazine published a deep investigation into why Moms love Meyer (“The attraction toward Edward is understandable: Few guys get a full century to perfect their rap while sporting the abs they had in high school.”) But we’ll focus on how the Moms show their love.
