Better days...
Montreal Garage rockers King Khan & BBQ Show were nowhere to be found, incommunicado, MIA at the soundcheck for their St. Louis, USA show last night — according to the local Riverfront Times , who were there to simply cover the concert. What a disappointment! So where were the fellas?
According to the band’s publicist, they’d had “some kind of hold up in [Tennessee] and are missing tonight’s and possibly all shows this weekend.”
A hold-up? Like — their wagon couldn’t ford the river, or the cowboys took their amps?
Um — that holdup would be a drug-bust. According to the Riverfront Times, the band was stopped with tour manager Kristin Klein, who is
“Now in custody in the Christian County Kentucky jail, charged with driving with a suspended license and possession of a controlled substance. Her bond is $3,000. A sergeant at the jail had no information as to what Klein was allegedly caught with… Khan & BBQ’s booking agent, Sam Hunt, was as baffled as anyone. ‘I have no idea,’ he said, adding it was still unclear how the arrest would affect the rest of their tour. ‘They had nothing going on between Nashville and St. Louis. Maybe they stopped to take a piss.’”
The band? They’re currently out on bail.
