Last week, yet another runway was a-flurry as models were zipped into sheaths, buttoned into gowns, and strapped into stilettos to parade before the flashbulbs.
The hooplah descended upon Capetown, South Africa, where local designers and recent graduates of the area’s fashion schools, showed in the second of such events sponsored by London-based ARISE Magazine, the recently-founded thick glossy on all-things creative and African.

An award for the best in the “New Generation” went to Michelle Ludek & Lalesso, whose swishy sheaths stood out among the hard-lines of other designers’ futuristic 80s-era imaginings:
